Yes. ContrActual implements the advanced electronic signature (AES), compliant with the eIDAS Regulation and recognised in Romania under Law 455/2001. For contracts that require a qualified signature (QES) — e.g. authentic deeds — we integrate certified providers.
Does my data stay in the EU?+
Yes. ContrActual's infrastructure runs exclusively on EU servers (Hetzner Germany). We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA. The DPA can be signed in a few minutes.
Can I import my existing templates?+
Yes. You can upload DOCX or PDF documents and ContrActual automatically converts them into editable templates with dynamic fields. For complex templates we offer conversion assistance.
What happens to the contract after signing?+
The signed PDF is stored immutably (Object Lock, WORM) on MinIO, encrypted at rest, for a minimum of 7 years. The parties receive a copy by email and can download the document at any time from their account. The complete audit trail stays attached.
Does the other party need a ContrActual account?+
No. We send a secured link (JWT, expiring) by email. The other party reviews the contract, signs with AES or QES, and receives the final copy — without creating an account.
